Business Development Associate

As the Business Development Associate, Joi supports Uncharted's funding efforts and nurtures valued partnerships with our incredible investors. She also collaborates across multiple teams to support our accelerator programs and engage with our network of beneficiaries.

Prior to joining Uncharted, Joi managed intersectional food justice rescue programs for children with Feeding America, led DEI and humanitarian aid missions focusing on girls’ education, maternal-child health, and preservation and cultivation of indigenous land with UNICEF Peru and the United States Peace Corps Morocco, and also developed major cultivation efforts and gender development projects on behalf of Michelle Obama’s Let Girls Learn Initiative through a partnership with the US Department of State. Joi also has a long history of community activism and education, including work alongside City Year, Amnesty International, and the United Way.

She is a Tallahassee, FL native and received her Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Florida. Outside of Uncharted, Joi consults educators in developing neurodiverse early childhood social-emotional development curriculum, cherishes time spent with her community, and exercises her creativity in the kitchen and in her (personal) traveling art studio.

Fun Fact

When I was 16, I met Maya Angelou inside of Penn Station. The train station was completely empty, and she was sitting alone at the bar at B.Smith’s. She was as captivating as you can imagine.
